Now Offering – Private Movement Coaching Sessions in Dallas, TX

I’m now offering private movement coaching sessions in Dallas, TX.

It’s an offering I’ve been hinting at on social media, but wanted to share it on the blog, too.

For the last six years, I’ve studied movement at The Movement Standard, learning under Brian Johnson. This practice has benefitted me in countless ways. If you’re interested in developing and exploring new capabilities for your body, contact me by email to discuss more.

This offering is for those wanting to:

  • Build a strong, mobile, dynamic, responsive, & expressive body
  • Learn tools to manage pain, heal and prevent injury, and remedy energy leakage
  • Expand beyond current capabilities, experience new possibilities

Unfamiliar with Movement?

Movement leaves nothing untouched. Whether it’s strength and mobility, coordination, skill development, physical freedom and expression, health & wellness, or self-understanding, each are considered in practice.

Movement is a generalist study of physicality. A well-rounded practice employs a variety of tools, perspectives, and disciplines to bring new awareness to the body, discover new and forgotten capabilities, release unnecessary tensions, observe the body, understand the self, and much more.

This practice is offered to anyone who is genuinely curious and interested in the body and mind.

Ido Portal, the founder of movement culture, brings us this idea of the five pillars of movement: object work, acrobatics, martial work, somatic work, and dance. Each realm offers us different content to explore and new challenges that expose our ways of moving. When connected over time, a holistic practice arises.

How Movement Changed Me

Because of the generalized nature of a movement practice, many different qualities emerge in the body over time. When a practice spans years and pulls from a broad study of multiple physical containers, including gymnastic strength training, calisthenics, martial arts, boxing, soft acrobatics, parkour, dance, & more, this constant exposure to new stimuli creates an adaptive body ready to respond to the demands of any moment.

Practically, I’ve noticed my spine remain healthy, expressive, and articulated. I’ve gained overall strength and coordination improvements. Acquired skills, unlocking new doorways to movement. Cultivated dynamic, elastic, and athletic qualities. Created newfound freedom through constraints. An improved ability to observe and remain with what arises. Ways to manage and heal from injury. Remedy energy leakage from unnecessary tensions.

Let’s Get Started

Best,
David
